Debit Cards

If you have a checking account at Benton County Schools Credit Union you may apply for a free BCS Visa Debit Card. This card serves as a plastic check, allowing you to make purchases at millions of places that accept Visa debit cards and have the funds come directly from your checking account. This card also allows you to receive cash back when making purchases from point of sale terminals.

You may also use the card to access funds from your checking account through any Automated Teller Machine (ATM) that displays a Visa logo or the CO-OP logo. There is no fee to have the card, but ATM fees may apply, see the schedule below.

**This fee schedule is for fees charged by Benton County Schools Credit Union only, and does not include any ATM owner surcharge at the time of use. Local branches of Citizens Bank do not surcharge Benton County Schools Credit Union cardholders. All CO-OP ATM's are surcharge free to other CO-OP members' cardholders. Benton County Schools Credit Union is a CO-OP Network member.


Visa USA has changed its policy regarding the conversion of transactions from foreign currency to US Dollars. The conversion fee of 1% used to be included as part of your purchase. Issuers now have the option to pass this 1% on to the cardholder as an additional line item on your statement, or increase the fee at their discretion (some large banks are charging 3% or more). Your credit union has chose to pass along the 1% fee. Although this will appear as a separate line item, please note that it is the same amount you were paying under the previous format.
