Benton County Schools Credit Union offers different checking account options to meet all your transaction account needs.

Green Checking

Our latest account offering is free, and helps you reduce paper consumption.  With this account, you are required to sign up for e-Statements, a debit card, and BCSCU APELTeller internet home banking.  You may not order checks.  As with our other checking accounts you receive:

  • A BCSCU Debit Card with Unlimited free BCSCU ATM withdrawals
  • CO-OP Network ATM access
  • Five free non CO-OP ATM withdrawals per month
  • Free APELTeller internet home banking
  • Free BCS APELPay Online Bill Payment

Classic Checking

This account is free! No monthly service fees, no minimum balance charges, and a free box of checks every twelve months*!

You also receive:

Investment Checking

If you keep a high balance in checking, but would like to earn interest, this account is for you! With a minimum balance of $2,500.00, members receive interest at the regular share rate, (see Savings Rates) paid quarterly. The account also comes with a free box of checks every twelve months*. With the additional features listed below, this account is a great investment!

  • CO-OP Network ATM access
  • Five free non CO-OP ATM withdrawals per month
  • Free APELTeller internet home banking
  • Free BCS APELPay Online Bill Payment

A $5.00 monthly fee will be charged on any investment checking account that falls below the minimum balance of $2,500.00 during the month.

 

*Members will receive one box of basic style checks free every twelve months, or credit for the price of the basic check style if ordering custom checks. No credit will be given for checks ordered through third party vendors.

All checking accounts may incur overdraft fees, stop payment fees, or NSF fees.
Applications for all accounts are subject to review of past credit history prior to approval.

BCSCU offers several savings accounts for your various savings needs. View the Savings Rates page for the current interest rate on each account.

Regular Shares

*This is your required membership account. The minimum balance required in this account is $25. Dividends are paid quarterly based on your average balance over the quarter. 

Club Accounts

BCSCU offers five club accounts to allow you to save for specific reasons. They are Miscellaneous Savings, Summer Savings, Tax Savings, Holiday Savings, and Household Savings. They all pay the same rate as Regular Shares, with interest compounded quarterly based on your average balance for the quarter. No minimum balance is required to open these accounts.

Christmas Club Savings

Save for the holidays with our Christmas Club Savings. Funds will be mailed to you in mid-November. You pay a penalty to withdraw the funds early. This is a great way to save for the holidays. Who wouldn’t want a big check showing up in the mail right before Christmas?

Money Market

The minimum balance to open this account is $10,000. Interest is paid monthly based on your average balance for the month. Money Market pays a higher rate than our regular accounts.

Member Advantage

If you don’t have $10,000, but still want to earn a higher interest rate, try our Member Advantage Savings. With a minimum balance of $2,500 you get a higher rate than our regular and club accounts.

Member High Yield

This is our highest earning savings account. Minimum balance required for this account is $25,000. Interest is paid monthly based on your average balance for the month.

IRA Accounts

Traditional, Roth, and Education IRA’s are available in a savings account or certificate investment. All IRA savings accounts pay the same rate as money market and are compounded on a monthly basis. Minimum balance to open any IRA is $1.

If you have a High Deductible Health Plan you can open a Health Savings Account.

Fee Schedule

Negative Balance Charge – $1 per day that account balance is below Zero
Teller Checks – $5 per check

Outgoing Wires – $5 on normal US institution to institution wires
Duplicate Statement Fee – $2 per statement
Account Closure Fee – $5

NCUSIF- Your Money is Federally Insured!

The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) insures accounts to at least $250,000 per account (with additional coverage of up to $250,000 for certain retirement accounts, just as the FDIC does for banks).  The NCUSIF is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government.

Visa Debit Card

If you have a checking account at Benton County Schools Credit Union you may apply for a free BCS Visa Debit Card. This card serves as a plastic check, allowing you to make purchases at millions of places that accept Visa debit cards and have the funds come directly from your checking account. This card also allows you to receive cash back when making purchases from point of sale terminals.

You may also use the card to access funds from your checking account through any Automated Teller Machine (ATM) that displays a Visa logo or the CO-OP logo. There is no fee to have the card, but ATM fees may apply, see the schedule below. To find a free ATM click the ATM Locator button located at the top right.

Benton County Schools Credit Union now offers a variety of instant issue card images! If you should ever need an instant card made to replace a lost, stolen, or non-working card. Below each image is a letter that identifies a specific card image. Find the right category for your card and tell us which card image you like. For example, I would like to have card “D” for my instant issue replacement card.
