Teen Checking Accounts

Our Teen Checking Account gives teens real-world banking experience in a safe, supported way.

When you open a new Teen Checking Account, you’ll receive a

Teen Scholarships

Get Rewarded for Good Habits

BCSCU offers scholarships for teen members who actively use their accounts and stay focused on school.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, you must:

  • Have a BCSCU Savings and Checking Account

  • Keep your Checking Account active with at least two debit card transactions per month

  • Open your Checking Account while still in middle or high school

  • Be an active BCSCU Online Banking user (minimum of two logins per year)

  • Keep your Checking Account active for at least 12 consecutive months

  • Be a full-time high school student

  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Submit proof of school enrollment and GPA with your application

Accounts with inactivity or NSF activity will be disqualified.

Scholarship Award Amounts

Scholarship awards are based on how long your Checking Account has been active before applying:

  • 12 consecutive months: $100

  • 24 consecutive months: $300

  • 36+ consecutive months: $600 (maximum award)

Scholarship funds are paid directly to the accredited college or university.

Important notes:

  • Scholarship offer expires 12 months after high school graduation

  • Funds are disbursed in full and payable to the school
